After taking Brooklyn and Manhattan , Phoenix took off to the West coast to do Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix standard " Lisztomania " on Jimmy Kimmel. It's a mostly spirited performance, Thomas Hedlund hitting the drums much harder than he needs to, to great effect. Phoenix took their French electro-pop sound onto Jimmy Kimmel last night and performed to a really receptive crowd. It sounded as if they were lip synching at first because the intro was performed so tightly, but it becomes clear as the song goes on they were as live as a band can get in front of a studio audience.

It's been a busy few weeks for Phoenix following the release of their excellent fourth album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix . They're in the midst of a huge U.S. tour, they performed on Letterman , and last night, they performed "Lisztomania" on Jimmy Kimmel's show. The performance is spot on with the original, even down to the poppy keyboard breakdown played by the guitarist near the end. I wonder at what point, if ever, this song will get old. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix is out now.
