It's always interesting when a band decide to experiment. In a lot of ways, Yeasayer [ Twitter / Facebook ] have constantly experimented throughout their career, so I wouldn't be particularly sticking my head above the parapet when I declare that their evolution since 20072s  All Hour Cymbals  has been fascinating to watch. Antes que o seu novo álbum  Fragrant World  vazasse na net, os Yeasayer decidiram adiantar-se com um feito inédito e limitado até às 20h de sexta-feira dia 3 de Agosto. I've been jamming on their latest release from  Fragrant World , "Longevity", almost as much as the rest of the world has been jamming on the new The xx. It sounds so good - the beat just brings out all those Arrested Development chicken-style dance moves straight out of you. The chorus is simple, yet to the point. Yeasayer's weird as shit. This has been a fact ever since we first got our ears on "Ambling Alp" back in 2009. Then we got our eyes on the official video and all hell broke loose. Not to mention the video for "Madder Red," we'll leave that alone. In the case of Yeasayer though, I'd be legitimately concerned if their new sounds had familiar characteristics to anything relevant whatsoever. That's not their deal. Strip this song back from hype and buzz, and I simply adore it. A slick, funky electro pop tune that leaves me buzzing and dying to know what's next from the third album from Yeasayer. A delight to my ears and a lovely accompaniment to the summer, it is out on 20th August.
