Legendary poet, singer-songwriter and spoken-word artist Gil Scott-Heron has died. The 62 year old died in a New York hospital at 4 pm on Friday May 27th, the cause of which is unknown. In 2008 Scott-Heron told New York magazine that he had contracted HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, after years of batting drug and alcohol addictions.
