Another new one from Simian Mobile Disco’s upcoming Unpatterns that’ll actually end up on the record – “Cerulean” joins the ranks of its predecessor “Seraphim” among SMD’s oeuvre of creepy-sexy clubby jams. We’re loving those shimmery, undulating background drones that give way to a brilliantly impossible-to-follow synth solo, one that seems to have a personality of its own. Simian Mobile Disco have released the official video for their track "Cerulean," and, taking inspiration from classic 8-bit video games such as Pong , Asteroids , Alleyway and Space Invaders , it is simply captivating. With Jack Featherstone and Will Samuel of ISO Studio at the helm, the video brilliantly matches up reimaginings of these video game classic with the UK duo's electro thumper. Early '80s video games, both the arcade and home variety, came in a wide array of genres. The most popular were the character driven side scrollers, but there were also some that were a bit more abstract, dealing with objectives involving geometric shapes. Toujours dans cet esprit très graphique, ce clip réalisé par Jack Featherstone et Will Samuel reste dans l'état d'esprit actuel du duo qui sort bientôt son nouvel alvum « Unpatterns » . La vidéo très minimaliste est assez envoutante, assez pour ne pas quitter la page avant la fin, le morceau est d'ailleurs sacrément sympathique.

We've loved first singles "Seraphim" and "Fourteenth Principles", now third Unpatterns release "Cerulean" emerges. Accompanied by an awesome Jack Featherstone & Will Samuel directed 80's video game inspired clip, the hypnotic "Cerulean" sounds like what the soundtrack for games like Pong and Asteroids would've sounded like had they come out today.
