Hee hee. This is the kind of song that will always get posted here. Pseudo spoken word delivered with a militant passion? Done deal! I think it's a sign of success when your audience chimes in to comment on You Tube to politely wish death upon you. Wonder if the dudes from Cut City live next door to Prinzhorn Dance School..that would explain all the racket heard in the background of their song.

Tuesday, September 28, 2010 Today's Quick Mention: Pavement is playing at Stubb's tonight! I know the show is sold-out, but if you can figure out a way to get in then you should go. I saw them in Berkeley over the summer and it was pretty fantastic. Doors at 7pm. Woven Bones will open. I only discovered Prinzhorn Dance School while browsing around Pitchfork yesterday, so all I can really say about them is that I've instantly become a [...]
I make a lot of recommendations about albums you should listen to. Here's a recommendation about an album you should avoid: the self-titled debut from British duo Prinzhorn Dance School. Many bands suffer from a lack of imagination and depth, resulting in a lot of albums that find a stylistic box and snuggle comfortably in it for forty minutes or so. But Prinzhorn Dance School take this lack of musical wanderlust to an extreme; it's like in the universe of Prinzhorn Dance School, there are only three notes and four rhythms, and the album is in fact a scientific reference [...]
Release Date: 09.28.07 Welcome to the Prinzhorn Dance School for especially special students, appropriately named after master quack Dr. Hans Prinzhorn, a slippery script writer who nabbed artistic goods from his brainly challenged patients, all of whom contributed hypnotic marvels to this thud of weird. Recorded in cottages and barns in Devon and Sussex, mixed by DFA in New York City, this self-titled bang of bodacious outrageousness is engaging and slightly erotic, like being suckered into a racy television commercial for a product that has nothing to do with the sticky [...]
Prinzhorn Dance School , James Murphy's latest signees to DFA Records , create poetic bursts over sparse, fat and simple bass lines and even more simple drum beats. It's a bit of a departure from the sounds we've come to expect from the DFA stable (Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem and The Rapture, to name a few) and is sure to not be embraced by all. It's almost like an early, English Jack and Meg effing aroung in the garage...without the lead guitar and garage. I'm wondering though if their next album, [...]
Prinzhorn Dance School make a fascinating noise. They are male/female duo from Brighton. There are heavy nods to Mark E Smith littered throughout their debut LP. Current single 'Crackerjack Docker' comes over like The Fall circa 1982. The LP has just been released on DFA (EMI). I really like it - although it can sound a bit samey after a few listens. But like I said, I do like it. The sound the band go for is very minimal but with a lovely heavy bass sound. The band have a website - [...]
