Australian quintent The Temper Trap secured a spot in the indie rock scene with the release of their 2008 song “Sweet Disposition.” The lead single from their 2009 debut album, Conditions , not only landed on the charts in the UK, Ireland, and Japan, but it would also go on to be used in a variety of commercials, TVs, and movies, including the hit (500) Days of Summer and a commercial for Diet Coke. Since then, the group has gone on to [...]
The Temper Trap add synthesizers to the grand approach of their first album The Temper Trap hail from Australia, a continent with a lot of empty space, and perhaps that framed their approach to music - they are one of those bands that shoot for the big and grand, the sold-out, arena-sized, world-swallowing tunes. The Temper Trap's first album, Conditions, was released in 2009, and one of its songs, "Sweet Disposition", landed in the indie-button-pushing flick, 500 Days Of Summer. For their second release, The Temper Trap, the...

the temper trap - trembling hands [you cannot tell me that lead singer dougy mandagi's voice doesn't border on caberet! it's his highly emotive vocals that just cuts through the rest of the band and offers something so dramatic for the fans. i'm not complaining, i just find it so alt to the world of alternative!] http://feeds.feedburner.com/Wo ngiesMusicWorld

The largely blue-collar London borough of Hackney resembled a warzone after a battle. It was 2011, and mounting protests against a coalition government – facing large deficits, and cutting many social services – had turned violent. Australian pop band The Temper Trap has a rehearsal studio in Hackney, a short distance from singer Dougy Mandagi’s flat. “One of the flashpoints was literally 20 meters from where Dougy’s house is,” drummer Toby Dundas recalled in a recent phone chat from Manchester, England, after the band finished a sound check from [...]

The Temper Trap are best known for their anthemic singles that accentuate a renaissance of emotions . They did it with “Sweet Disposition” and now they’ve done it again with their latest single “Trembling Hands.” Rolling Stone Australia, which gave the band’s new release a glowing 4-stars, called the track, “A powerful epic that contrasts tight, understated verses against the soaring, cathedral grandeur of a chorus that ranks among the Temper Trap’s best.” The band will be performing this track, ...
Here is the new promo video for the Temper Trap 's 'Trembling Hands', the second single off their second and confusingly self-titled album out now. Both album and single are out now on Infectious/PIAS. Going back to the video, it seems tailor made for the Olympics, does it not? Courage, determination, heart - it's all here. Whether you're an athlete or in whatever line of work you do, you need all three of these to succeed. We were so pleased to have the Aussie band headline our stage at Liverpool [...]

We're all about this pensive dictation in the, ever so delicate, vocal delivery of "Distant Places" by new Oslo, Norway collective Since Rabbit. Celebrate their light and airy Radiohead-like spirited electro pop with us by getting familiar below... Since Rabbit - Distant Places Since Rabbit ( Facebook ) Rating 8.1
In the new video for The Temper Trap 's latest anthemic single " Trembling Hands ," the visuals and story are entirely fitting to the title of the song as we see a struggling acrobatic gymnast overcoming her weaknesses. Check out the inspirational video above. The Temper Trap's self-titled sophomore LP is out today via Glassnote/Columbia Records.

It's always hard to follow up a breakthrough records, but Japandroids have not only met any expectations that may have been placed on them, they've set themselves to break out to a bigger audience that no one, even the band themselves, may have ever expected them to reach. Although we're only halfway through the year, early reviews suggest that Celebration Rock is looking to be near the top of many critics' Best Of lists. Bigger, tighter, louder, and overall better than their already-stellar 2009 debut, Post-Nothing, the Canadian garage-rock duo take their songwriting to [...]
