Dan Boeckner of Wolf Parade and his wife Alexei Perry, collectively the Handsome Furs , are coming to Newport's Southgate House on Monday, March 30th. Ironically, the band name formed out of one of Alexei's short stories she was writing at the time, and they've been blowing up ever since with everyone and their mother has been raving about them. I fell in love with Dan Boeckner's Wolf Parade upon discovering their Apologies to the Queen Mary . Love soon gave way to obsession as I spun the disc relentlessly throughout '05 and a good amount of '06. Then came 2007 and Handsome Furs . Dan Boeckner last crossed our blogpost entry template with his song-making turns on the standout tracks from the Mohawk Lodge's Wildfires , though his Handsome Furs project (with fiancée Alexei Perry) has received ample love before then.
