There's no need to wax lyrical about Hannett and his assured genius/madness so here's a personal mix from his own collection of Joy Divisions 'Heart and Soul'  -a little grittier and unpolished but still my favourite track from Closer and one of the best basslines ever. Also check out Peter Hook playing with ACR covering the same tune and his prophetic claim regarding the late, great Tony Wilson. Volga Select popped up on a Output Recordings compilation called "Channel 2 - A Compliation of Output Recordings" - it's well worth a listen. [...]
