There is much that can be said about this five-piece from London. Headed by 8-bit star Alexis Taylor and certified beat muncher Joe Goddard, Hot Chip has eased their way onto dance floors around the globe. And when I say "eased their way" I really mean it; Hot Chip does not have the super fast dance sound that seems to be popular these days, but they take it easy. The first few lyrics of their 2006 smash hit Over and Over start with Alexis muttering "Laid Back / Laid Back / I'll give you laid back". [...]
Hot Chip are quickly becoming one the most well-known names in both the indie and dance music scenes. With their third album, Made In The Dark , being released in early February, its prime time to check out some of their impressive back catalog. Signed to influential DFA Records, their first record Coming On Strong didn't make too many waves when it was released overseas in 2004, but their follow-up, 2006's The Warning , earned them widespread critical acclaim and a sea of new [...]
Our favorite little eurotrashers Hot Chip have a new album dropping in February entitled Made In the Dark (scandalous!), as a follow-up to 2006's hit The Warning. You can check out their new single, "Shake a Fist", on their Myspace, and the video for another track off the new album, "Ready For the Floor" can be found below. Warning: Epileptics beware. And in celebration of said new album, Hot Chip will be playing a special record release kickoff show in our fair city at the Highline Ballroom on February 2nd.
Are You Ready For The Floor? I actually didn't play it when they added it to their MySpace player coz I wanted to wait till the promos were sent out! I got to say this is probably their most ready for the radio single yet & I love the ringtone-like wooden bleeps sprinkled all over it! + It's catchy as syphilis! DL: Hot Chip - Ready For The Floor
The upcoming Hot Chip album "Made In The Dark" due to drop sometime in january/february will most likely be one of THE albums in 2008. You all probably heard the Soulwax dub of "Ready For The Floor" already since it was burning up on the blogs about a month ago. Here, Jesse Rose brings the finest sounds out of Germany to the upcoming single from the quirky british electropopsters. Hot Chip - Ready For The Floor (Jesse Rose remix) (YSI) Hot Chip - Ready [...]

Previendo que a mediados del 2008 se estrena "The Dark Knight" y que en los últimos meses hemos visto muchas imágenes de The Joker, Hot Chip acaba de estrenar el primer video promocional de su disco "Made In The Dark". El clip de "Ready For The Floor" claramente fue inspirado por Batman, el video muestra al líder Alexis Taylor caracterizando a Dos Caras y en otros momentos a The Joker. La
honestly, this is one of my most beloved bands. they are one of the only true i waaas thereeeeeeeeee moments (sxsw 2005 saw them between mia and lcd soundsystem). they never dissapoint live thier records always grow on me and i still think over and over is a banger. the new record is coming out soon and i think we have an addition to the best of 2008 list all ready. check the video above and listen to soulwax get thier paws on it below. Hot Chip ~ Ready For The Floor (Soulwax Dub)
I'm still not 100% sold on Hot Chip's (a little too ) winsomely goofy wuss disco despite the fact that the U.K. group has grown on me (a little), but any regular Idolator reader should know that I am all about the Pet Shop Boys and the 1989 Batman flick. Yet something about references to both in combination with Hot Chip's shtick induces the dreaded "laughing at, not with" feelings here. You may love it more than I do, but we're certainly one carefully orchestrated iPod ad away from never hearing the end of it. [...]
Hot Chip's new album Made In The Dark , comes out this February and they have just released a video for one of the album's tracks. I've always enjoyed the band's videos, and this one is no exception. Check out our favorite weirdo, Alexis as he portrays the Joker and is surrounded by Day-Glo visuals:
Holy fucking shit! From the rampant cuts of Two-Face and the Joker a la Batman, the game of chase being played on the elevated blocks, the old school television color bars to the blacked out halves of the female dancers disappearing into the void, this video is supreme. Kudos to Hot Chip . Made in the Dark will be available February 5 and they're playing two US shows for the release. They are: Feb 02 New York, NY (Highline Ballroom) Feb 04 Los Angeles, CA (El Rey Theatre) [...]
Man I can't wait till Feb. 5th, when Hot Chip's Made in the Dark comes out. Between "Shake a Fist" and this video I can barely handle it.

'Ready for the Floor' is the first single from Hot Chip 's forthcoming album "Made in the Dark", due February 5 from DFA/Astralwerks. The video has arrived for the bouncy synth jam, featuring singer Alexis Taylor dancing around as The Joker, as well as many other silly activities involving color. It's total nonsense, but a fun video nonetheless. As far as the track goes, it really grows on you after a couple listens. The single drops on January 29th. The Warning: Hot Chip is just a few months off from unleashing their third LP, and so far, so great. Long-time live staple " Shake A Fist " was the first cut to start streaming back in June, so consider "Ready For The Floor" the sort-of second single from the long-player. (If you saw 'em live this summer, you'll recognize it.) The group put a two-minute stream of the new on up at TheirSpace a few weeks ago (not 90 seconds , but still weak), but this is more like it: a bisected, Batman-referencing video for the [...]
