
I became a fringe fan of Cornershop, as many people did, with the release of When I Was Born for the 7 th Time – the album that carried the catchy tune "Brimful of Asha" along with a bunch of other great tracks. What's better than archival footage edited together? When most of it's run backwards. Esteban Gibbon found these clips in a few archives around London and spliced them together for the band. It's full of schoolboys in short pants, roundabouts, paramilitary gymnastics and the bobbies mucking about. The video could really be for any song, and would be sinister if paired with a Nine Inch Nails tune, but it happens to be for the upbeat "Who Fingered Rock 'N' Roll." The color and confetti-filled Prashant Bhargava-directed video for Cornershop's " The Roll Off Characteristics (Of History In The Making) " finds an interesting followup in this differently joyous clip for "Who Fingered Rock 'N' Roll," the second track from their forthcoming Judy Sucks A Lemon For Breakfast .
