Radiohead co-pilot Johnny Greenwood is making quite the name for himself as a fledging film composer, famously working on Paul Thomas Anderson's deranged masterpiece There Will Be Blood (we still can't believe the Academy snubbed Greenwood's tense and nervous score). The first track from Radiohead guitarist Johnny Greenwood 's composition soundtrack to Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master has been unveiled. 'Application 45 Version 1' is a menacing track, which springs from delicate beginnings (think There Will Be Blood and you'll be in the right ballpark). Chilling, threadbare and raw: Jonny Greenwood's soundtrack to the upcoming Paul Thomas Anderson film The Master , his second consecutive collaboration with the director in 5 years, has given us our first full glimpse into the score with "Application 45 Version 13. It's very similar to the sort of music that helped to make There Will Be Blood so uniquely engaging and I suspect it will do the same for The Master . I couldn't be more excited for this film.

There Will Be Blood would have been a seriously disquieting movie even if Rogers & Hammerstein had done the soundtrack, but Radiohead "guitarist" Jonny Greenwood's insanity-inducing score amped up the disturbing to 11. Greenwood has teamed with Paul Thomas Anderson again for the director's forthcoming The Master , a film officially not about Scientology or L. Ron Hubbard, the trailers for which portend something transfixing and transcendent.
