Wie A zegt, zegt B (want dat moet). En wie Wes Anderson zegt, zeg Jason Schwartzman. En wie jason Schwartzman zegt, zegt... Coconut Records!? Yup!

Remember all the old videos and magazine photos of dudes pretending to surf on their skateboards? That style always looked a little too "goofy" to me. Skateboarding today has moved away from its free riding past into something way more technical and that is largely due to MARK GONZALES. Mark Gonzales (born June 1, 1969), the "Gonz" is every as a professional skateboarder as he is an artist. Gonz began skating at age 15, pretty much the same age that EVERYONE starts skating. The one thing about Gonz that made him stand out [...]
onemoretimewithfeeling : amyyy : Coconut Records - West Coast it's just fun to watch , basically. i like when he goes through the box And…more Jason Schwartzman. Great song.
Just stumbled across the video "West Coast" from Jason Schwartzman's new solo act Coconut Records... I really liked this track and the skating in it but make sure you also check out the Nighttiming Video ....
No, this isn't exactly new, but it's become kind of an obsession lately. Jason Schwartzman's " band " has a decent record led by this single, "West Coast", which seems innocuous enough in its claustrophobic lo-fi indie pop charm until it seeps into your head and refuses to leave. You'll be humming that piano riff all day long. The album features a few of the requisite celebrity cameos you'd expect from another celebrity of Schwartzman's caliber and cool, as Kirsten Dunst and Zoey Deschannel lend some fairly low-key background vocals to a few songs. I'm not advocating actors turning into [...]
Oh happy day, I just found out that one of my favorite bloggers (who I don't actually know), Ortholomeux , is not moving to Australia (to work on the Sin City video game) after all. Not only that but he's written about a few songs I hadn't heard of : The first is by Coconut Records , called West Coast from last year's album Nighttiming . Coconut Records is the solo project of actor Jason Schwartzman . The name of the project sounds like the name of a record label, [...]
...one should listen to Coconut Records' Nighttiming . My spring break was last week, by the way. Coconut Records - West Coast Coconut Records' Website / Myspace
Für alldiejenigen, die nicht wissen, was sie tun oder lassen sollen (so wie ich derzeit), hier eine kleine Lektion aus London. Besonders toll find ich: "Thou Shalt not Question Stephen Fry " oder "The Beatles ... just a Band". [...]
while we wait for the new crop of 08 bangers to start sprouting up (eh eh?) let's turn our attention to a pop gem from the end of 07. anyone who knows me knows of my love for jason schwartzman and everthing he does. seeing rushmore at 15 really struck a note with me and what can i say? everyone knows about that whole phantom planet nonsense, but i feel that coconut records could use a bit of a push. its his own label and the band is your solid beatles esque pop and [...]
Coconut Records (fronted by actor Jason Schwartzman ) first introduced this poignant tune during a scene on The OC (remember when Ryan and Taylor were like, totally about to kiss, but Ryan was still hung up on Marissa?). Using gentle music and sentimental lyrics, Schwartzman manages to put listeners in a bittersweet daze with this song.
If there is one song you download and put on your ipod before your Thanksgiving travels, it should be this one. Coconut Records - West Coast (mp3) I heard this song by Coconut Records earlier today and I couldn't help myself. I was nodding my head up and down and up and down and up and.... There isn't a lot to say about it other than it's a lovely pure pop song. I don't think it should be given special consideration because a famous person [...]
Coconut Records = Jason Schwartzman = That dude in the Wes Anderson movies...
I totally just snagged this from spinner but it's cool cause I'm giving them reps. Another actor turned musician, yet he doesn't suck. I like Jason Schwartzman in everything I've seen him in and now I like his music. He's got a nice indie pop sound going on. Honestly Mark Gonzales is what makes the video for me. I used to be a skater kid before I went to college and remember him like it was yesterday watching skate videos on saturday afternoons before going out to new spots. Oh those were the days. Enjoy the video. [...]
