Brandon Flowers, Frontman der Band The Killers aus Las Vegas hat gegenüber BBC Radio 1 bestätigt, dass die Band begonnen hat Songs für ein neues Album zu schreiben. We have about four or five. We've put them up on the board and they're sounding good. We think they're strong. erzählt Flowers. On Friday evening, I saw Bright Eyes and Titus Andronicus at the Commodore Ballroom. I submitted my review to the Georgia Straight late that night, and by the time I woke up on Saturday, it had already been published. Instant gratification. (Incidentally, I also wrote this review of The People's Key ). Since Bright Eyes doesn't have any new songs streaming (and since Titus Andronicus hasn't released an album in a year), here's the Killers ' cover of Bright Eyes' "Four Winds." It [...]

Song Heiruspecs ~ " Get Up " myspace plays: 12,094 mp3 download I am always interested in hip hop acts that have real bands backing them up. Heiruspecs is out of St. Paul, Minnesota and they are currently on a tour of the midwest. Their latest album, Heiruspecs , is out now. Bonus video: [...]
I was waiting to see if the mp3 was gonna turn up, but apparently this is going to be part of the "Spaceman" single package. Stereogum said of this cover "the Killers make Bright Eyes sound like the Killers. For fans of the Killers. Not of Bright Eyes." So for fans of the Killers, check it out above. For fans of Bright Eyes, check the original below. Bright Eyes - Four Winds PigeonsandPlanes

Just a quick post with some music that's sure to get you up and moving on this fine Sunday afternoon… Earlier this month we included a remix of Franz Ferdinand's "Ulysses" done by My Dear Disco in our SXSW Mix post. If you missed it, you can grab it, along with some other great music, here . For those of you not familiar with the band, their debut Dancethink LP was released late last year to much critical acclaim [...]
Four Winds turned into a dance hit? It's on the Spaceman single/EP. A really strange idea and one that doesn't really work
While Sub-Pop is dealing with the loss of arguably the biggest artist, The Shins , from their label earlier this week, they have managed to release a reissue of Red Red Meat's 3rd album Bunny Gets Paid (1995) along with a free music sampler from Amazon . You can get Red Red Meat's deluxe reissue here, or take a listen yourself (courtesy of Aquarium Drunkard ). Red Red Meat - Rosewood, Stax, Volts, and Glitter - MP3 Red Red Meat - Gauze [...]
Turns out that I actually like Conor Oberst. Or at least his songs. When someone else plays them. I never would've guessed. Bright Eyes - Four Winds

from their upcoming EP Spaceman out 4/4. The Spaceman EP: 01 "Spaceman" (Album Version) 02 "Four Winds" 03 "Tidal Wave" (Bonus Track) 04 "Spaceman" (Closed Captioned) gettin his fix - tabloid junkie.
Just when a Noisettes cover had me convinced that maybe I had been a bit too tough in my vehement dislike of the Killers, there comes this abomination--a cover of Bright Eyes' pretty awful " Four Winds " by the Las Vegas foursome that tosses out the song's honky tonk affectations (probably rightly) and replaces them with shoddy synth-pop posing (like everything off Day & Age [...]
Ever wanted to hear The Killers cover Bright Eyes? Neither have I. But, if the curiosity gets to you, like it did me, then this YouTube audio will come in handy. It's a synthed-up version of one of Conor Obserst's twangier songs, "Four Winds", off the Cassadaga LP. Not as entirely awful as I would have imagined, but certainly not good. [via MOKB ]

The Killers are headlining Lolla and Coachella, Conor's also headed to Coachella , they both are suffering for their recent fashions , how about a track to celebrate all that. The Las Vegans are releasing a single/EP thing for Day & Age 's bopping, alien-abducting standout "Spaceman," and it'll include a new bonus track, a close-captioned version of the single (don't ask me), and this cover of "Four Winds," on which the Killers make Bright Eyes sound like the Killers. For fans of the Killers. Not of Bright Eyes. [...]
The Killers actually do a pretty good Bright Eyes...it's like Bright Eyes without all the whining...which is nice...or it's like Bright Eyes set to just about any and every Killers song you hear anymore. The Killers are one of Lolla 2009's headliners and will play Indianapolis (Murat) on May 1st. I believe it is sold out. ------------------------------ -------------------------- Official Site | MySpace | More MP3s | eMusic [...]

Killers covers Bright Eyes?! No Lie! 1:51 am and for once I'm almost done with my homework, and I get this crazy IM from Josh. Take a look-see: Ok, so self-admittedly... even though I loooove Bright Eyes, Cassadaga wasn't my favorite album (try least favorite). Yet I've always had a soft spot for this twangy, toe-tapping song with great harmonies and some smart lyrics. But this? Brandon Flowers, you synthesizing scoundrel, you. I love when covers are so distinct that it just [...]
