The month of October is known for Halloween, and therefore, tricks and treats. We here at TVD support the latter, whether it comes in the form of candy, alcoholic beverages, or, in this case, free concert tickets. As usual, we're previewing some of the awesome shows our buddies at the 9:30 Club will be playing host to this month and giving you the chance to win tickets-no tricks about it. Don't forget to submit your extra entry to one of these shows (details at the bottom). The Walkmen, Fri [...]

Spring -- in case you were too busy holed up with an Xbox and a case of Five-Hour Energy to notice -- has pretty much sprung. Which is why this is as a good a time as any for rousing, energetic tunes
Once again, Bloodshy & Avant prove they are some of the best pop producers working today, and once again, vocalist Andrew Wyatt proves to be one of the most unemotive vocalists of all-time. Miike Snow has a bit of a problem on their hands. First off, the basics: The group is composed of a trio of very talented people -- singer Andrew Wyatt and the duo Christian Karlsson & Pontus Winnberg, who are perhaps better known as Bloodshy & Avant. While people may not know the name Bloodshy & Avant up front, they've likely heard the duo's work, as [...]

This week is a big week for Seattle shows, and thankfully, a handful of the best ones aren't sold out yet! Here is a list of some you might not want to miss! Saturday, April 7, Manhattan indie pop duo Cults will be playing at the Neptune. Cults has a pop sound all unto themselves, sounding distant yet relatable all the time. Their catchy and relaxing vibe found them to be one of the breakout indie pop acts of 2011. Now, they are here playing in support of their hauntingly beautiful self-titled debut album. Check out [...]
Justin Townes Earle Words : Drake Lelane I'm mostly back after an Amazon-related debacle. You'll notice there's no more links to Amazon here going forward, which has been a hassle, but the switch to in links to emusic, Insound and others should be better in the long run for users. I'll grant that Amazon was convenient, but a case can be made that they aren't good for the user or the artist. Missed The Shins last week, but our return is marked with Justin [...]

I'll grant that Amazon was convenient, but a case can be made that they aren't good for the user or the artist. Missed The Shins last week, but our return is marked with Justin Townes Earle and Miike Snow, so it can't be that bad. Also of note this week are releases from the Seattle hip hop [...]
Sweden has blessed the world with many wonderful things: hot blondes, cheap furniture, and smandouml;rgandaring;sbords. They've also provided us with a whole slew of overly decadent music like Yngwie Malm

Miike Snow - Happy to You Review Whenever pop music enters a conversation, there is generally an immediate stigma and a presumptuous attitude that pinpoints the genre as a plague upon all of the other genres of music. This attitude comes primarily from the pop music we know today, the genre that formed in the mid-to-late ‘90s, where artists such as Britney Spears and ‘N Sync were dominating the charts and airwaves. Modern pop music carries a similar stigma, where artists such as Katy Perry and LMFAO are governing the space between those who don’t [...]
I'm sure you've all heard about Miike Snow . They are a really talented group of musician that can preform live as well as dj. I had the chance to see their dj set a few times in the fast and it was pretty good. Their latest album came out a few weeks ago that stays true to their "Miike Snow" style. They tried to mix things up a little bit musically so as to not repeat their last album, but the meat of it hold true to why we all know and love them. Not much else to [...]
Miike Snow's new video for "The Wave" is available now. Their new album Happy To You is now available on iTunes, and will be available everywhere on March 27th. The latest video from Miike Snow is real interesting, once again them putting out videos that are different and provoke thought in us, usually asking the question, [...]

Sober up your Thursday with Miike Snow's "The Wave" video, which is equal parts kooky and disturbing. Picking up at the end of "Paddling Out," which depicted a human man surgically altered by aliens and transformed into a giant-nosed, black-vinyl-pants-wearing curiosity, this Andreas Nilsson-directed clip begins with an object falling from space and killing a lot of people, then spends a lengthy amount of time with the police as they deal with the bodies. Fun, right? Luckily, things take a turn for the bizarre toward the end and lighten up (kind of). To describe what happens would be impossible, so [...]
well its a story about a guy and a......bunch of aliens....
Miike Snow just announced a small show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, preceding the band's three sold-out shows at the much-larger Terminal 5. The Terminal 5 ticket-holders will get the first shot at 400 tickets to the MHoW show starting tomorrow at 9 a.m (here). Another 100 tickets will go on general sale at [...]
Here's the new Miike Snow video for Happy To You‘s official first single “Paddling Out.” Happy To You is out March 27. Pretty awesome!

'Happy To You’ is the second album from Swedish indie pop band Miike Snow. Comprised of three producers, the project started out humbly with them just playing around for fun, but has transformed to them developing a wide and devoted following. Thus this album has great expectations and has a hard act to follow in the self-titled first record. Read more..

Paddling Out by Swedish indie/electro pop band Miike Snow is proving to be quite an earworm and try as I might I can’t help but like it. It’s got a pretty weird video to go along with it as well. Watch it below. The song is taken from the bands soon to be released album Happy To You .
