Announced last week, L.A.'s No Age set to release the follow up to their 2008 Nouns LP in October - an EP entitled Losing Feeling. Another sign the CD continues to go the way of the dodo, Sub Pop will release the EP in two formats; vinyl and digital. Until then, "Boy Void" from the [...]

Experimental power pop duo No Age has been all the rage recently, proving that listeners are yearning for energetic sound to just rock out to. Using a synthesizer and drum set, the duo generates an exiting mix of melody and pure noise, inciting dance parties at every show. The video below is a mash-up of pictures from their recent tour, mixed in with some bloody goodness at 1:02.
Last night was really fun. That was kind of predictable though. So predictable that we actually pre-posted "Last night was really fun" a few days ago. Seriously, though, who knew pretzels could bring so many great people together?... Friends of Dennis Wilson were more psychedelic shoegazer than we last remember them a year ago (and that's a good thing). Wait Think Fast's new songs are beautiful
Just a friendly reminder: Liars + No Age roll through tonight at Hailey's in Denton , with a DJ set by $elect to kick things off. This one is worth the drive up. We all know how intense Liars ' live show is, but if you're still on the fence, check out this video for " Boy Void " from No Age's Weirdo Rippers :
by Nick Masi Liars in Portland, OR; 01/28/08 ( P4K ) Not only has the Liars and No Age tour gone off without a hitch, it has finally reached NYC! The two bands will play Warsaw on Saturday and No Age will headline a show at Market Hotel on Monday with High Places . Angus Andrew (Liars) gave [...]
In the current climate of ruthless blog scrutiny, good records can easily disappear with little or no press and supposedly major albums are forgotten within weeks of release. With that in mind, we bring you Second Spin , where we'll take a look at records that have either slipped between the hype cracks or re-evaluate albums after the press cycle has left them for dead. This time we take a look at three indie bedroom/garage/loft mavericks playing with ideas like "lo-fi" and "noise-pop" for 2007. Kinda fudging the definitions on [...]

Release Date: 08.28.07 Like a big cuddly teddy bear, Los Angeles art-punks No Age are a fluffy and inviting proposition, effortlessly drawing legions of fans and curious onlookers alike into their brightly hued world of fuzztronic pop simplicity. Both impossibly archaic and bizarrely futuristic, Weirdo Rippers sounds as though Spunt and Randall dropped the master tapes into a vat of acetone, leaving a gnarled, wooly and crusty film over what were once crystalline pop songs that the Walker Brothers or Box Tops would have been proud to call their own. In [...]

It's a wonderful life for band to watch No Age, whose debut LP continues to buzz months before release. And in "Boy Void," every time a cymbal rings, No Age shows pictures of things. Things like trees and flowers and their band and fans. And when the chattering anthem's art-punk skids into dissonance, well, there's an appetizing pic of open-wrist surgery (ER docs, we just made that up, right?) to fit the mood like a blood red chianti. Need a favorite new band in '07? Get Weirdo Rippers . [...]
