I'm a sucker for A.C. Newman Solo Albums (maybe even more than New Pornographer albums even though it's sometimes hard to tell the difference), so I am very much looking forward to this one. "I'm Not Talking" is an excellent first single and opening track. Shut Down The Streets is due out this fall.

A.C. Newman 's 2004 release The Slow Wonder is one of my favourite albums ever, so I'm pretty excited about the upcoming Shut Down the Streets , due out October 9 on Matador Records . "I'm Not Talking" is a promising (and surprisingly synth-tinged) preview of the new collection. Here's hoping that this is indicative of the quality of the rest of the album. My girlfriend just asked me if I'm listening to a TV show theme song. Okay, it does kind of sound like that.

Newman shared the opening track along with details for his forthcoming solo record,  Shut Down the Streets , tonight, breaking out some familiar tambourine-accented percussion and filling up the cut with harmonies that just might could come courtesy of New Pornographers bandmate Neko Case.
