There aren't many award shows that I get excited about as I tend to feel that the greatest music being made today is so often overlooked in favor of over produced pop tunes that anyone with the right equipment and marketing can create. However, the Grammy's are pretty much the gold standard in American music so I'm generally faithful to them each year. I don't always agree with the nominations

I'm Ill. Allergies had me completely laid up yesterday. I spent the entire day working from my couch, watching the office, and sweating like a polyester suit at a hipster BBQ. Over the weekend I was able to catch Feist/ Grizzly Bear at the Berklee Performance Hall in Boston. It's a show that almost slipped through my fingers as somehow I wasn't aware of it until it was already on sale. Neither of these is new, but haven't I already established that we work at the slow-and-steady pace here? I love this Feist video for the song "12343 because it's simultaneously simple and complex. It's set on an empty soundstage with one continuous camera shot, but there's some complex staging to the whole thing. For example, note how the dancers become color coordinated at one point.
