Written by Jonathan Hatchman Having only formed back in March 2010, the Australian Garage-Pop Punks, Bleeding Knees Club’s debut effort, the Virginity EP, didn’t quite achieve multi-platinum status. Short, sharp slices of raucous, sweaty garage rock are always welcome in my world. When done well, those sub-3 minute stabs of energy are just what's needed when the day is dragging and all motivation seems to be drifting away. Thank you Bleeding Knees Club then, for your carefree attitudes, and love of lo-fi guitars, drums and simple, catchy lyrics. Australian rockers Bleeding Knees Club made their way over to the US for CMJ last week. Before heading home, the band played a few LA dates as well including last night at the Satellite . Check out photos from their set thanks to our photographer Marcello Ambriz and watch their video for "Teenage Girls" inside.

Almost as if these images were taken straight out of a teenager's Tumblr feed, Bleeding Knees Club 's video for their new single "Teenage Girls" is a live collage of kittens, cigarettes, apple bongs and hipster gals staring into the lens with ultimate apathy. Fortunately, the music of Jordan Malane, Alex Wall and Matt Woods is far from the deadpan looks their leading ladies give in the video. Blending garage rock with with some surf-pop sensibility, these Aussies' short but fuzzed-out punk anthems have one looking forward to the weekend even during the darkest hours at the work desk.
