For some, today was a b-e-a-utiful day, for others, it may as well have been their last. Why so extreme? Because May the 2nd, 2013 is the date marked in everyone's physical and mental calendars as the day SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS tickets go on sale! With the lineup announced just a week ago featuring Mumford and Sons , The National and TV On The Radio 's only Australian shows, Polyphonic Spree performing the Rocky Horror Picture Show , You Am I performing their first two albums and a [...]

SXSW: My First Time By Jack PoP One could have been forgiven for asking what the hell we’d flown 10’s of 1000’s of miles for as we stood, premium lager in hand, watching some of our favourite UK acts in the British embassy venue on the inagural night of SXSW. Looking largely reminiscent of an industry-heavy show back at the Old Blue Last or somewhere similar (with a lot of friendly yet familiar faces) the talent on show from our fair isle was admittedly some of [...]

Wavves 's Nathan Williams is a modern day renaissance man. Besides being a guitarist/songwriter and a weed connoisseur, Williams is also a comic book author and has penned a twelve part series with friend Matt Barajas and illustrator Nicholas Gazin. Pitchfork says that , According to an email from Gazin, "Negative Dad is like an extra retarded X-Men. There's heshers, evil parents, cat people, juvenile delinquents with partially functioning mutant powers, aliens, dreams." There will be at least 12 issues, and according to Gazin, it will possibly come with a cassette. He says, [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , New Music Daniel Boczarski, Redferns It might be testing the limits (and the law ) when it comes to band merchandise, but California lo-fi rockers Wavves definitely score points in the creativity department. Last September, the band announced that they would be selling Wavves marijuana grinders at their shows. That was followed up recently with the addition of Wavves-brand rolling paper. "I [...]

"San Diego punk-rockers Wavves released their album King Of The Beach to critical acclaim earlier this summer. Now they’ve added a video for the song “Post Acid” which can be found on that album as well as on a singles release by Green Label Sound (the record label funded by Mountain Dew). The video was shot in the Echo Park area of Los Angeles and directed by DIY photographer/filmmaker Patrick O’Dell, who has also done vids for Panda Bear and Morrissey . The “Post Acid” video features John Norris of MTV fame, skateboarding [...]
Top 3 hangs this holiday weekend: ☛ The FYF Fest goes off downtown at Los Angeles State Historic Park, featuring this week's Weezer, Wavves [that's video for "Post-Acid," above], along with the likes of the Rapture , Panda Bear , School of Seven Bells, Best Coast , the Soft Pack, AA Bondy and about 30 others.

Wavves has released the new video for his song 'Post-Acid' from his new album "King of the Beach". The video features the band hanging out with a weird alien smoking, doing other things that come natural to the band which constantly talks about their smoking habits on...
AUDIOVISUALS : Wavves - Post Acid It’s lo-fi, it’s trippy, it’s summery, it’s got whack visuals and features an Alien (played by pro skater Kevin “Spanky” Long); and altogether works perfectly with the song’s vibe. This latest release from the band continues the prevalent representation, exploration and appreciation of all things drug related, their album artwork for ‘ King of the Beach ’ is after all a cartoon cat below a pot leaf holding a joint… Enjoy the video, though it may be a little too trippy if [...]
