When Philip Oakey formed the Human League in 1977, with his Sheffield, England art school mates Martyn Ware and Ian Marsh, the art collective/theater group/band that the band started as were dedicated to the idea of creating detached electronic music using only synthesizers. It wasn't long though before a difference of opinion on the band's musical direction led to Ware and Marsh’s departure to start Heaven 17 in 1980, and the reconfiguration found Oakey taking the group toward a more pop sound and adding a pair of female singers Susan Ann Sully and Joanne Catharell, creating the Human League’s [...]
The Human League recently released Credo , their first LP in ten years and ninth overall, though according to a source quoted on Wikipedia, it "will not be available domestically in the US or on iTunes." The album is out now overseas. Maybe that will change, Regardless, the classic new wave band has scheduled some shows in the United States. Though all dates haven't been announced yet, it looks like The Human League will tour from California to NYC, kicking things off at " Totally 80s Hollywood Bowl [...]
First album in a decade from the synth-pop survivors. So, can you call it a comeback? Thirty-two years ago, the Human League released a record called The Dignity of Labour. While the title was probably more a reflection of the members' socialist leanings, it makes a fitting motto for the band's existence over the past three decades. They've run the gauntlet to which most long-running acts are subjected. The Greatest Hits tours and nostalgia package tours. Dwindling record sales. Selling their creative souls to "hot" producers. Getting dropped from major labels....

Belki Human [...]
Here’s the video for The Human League forthcoming new single ‘Never Let Me Go’. It’s mirror creepy, I warn you, if you find symmetry, and octopuses, creepy that is, which I do. Defiantly one of the standout's of the album (review incoming), personally I would have led with this single before ‘Night People’ and as with ‘Night People’ the last third is amazing. ‘Never Let Me Go’ is out now and the new album,‘Credo’’s release has been brought forward to next week.
