¿Recuerdas Upside Down, una de las primeras y mejores canciones (a mi parecer) de The Jesus and Mary Chain ?
Filed under: News , Movies PA Photos Creation Records boss Alan McGee has revealed that he has refused the chance to turn the story of the legendary indie label into a drama. Both the BBC and Channel 4 had got in contact with McGee about overseeing a film drama of the label, which had the likes of Oasis , Teenage Fanclub and Primal Scream in its portfolio before it disbanded [...]
The Upside Down movie, which tells the story of Creation Records, looks set to be one of the essential rock docs of 2011. All the major players who made key records for the label seem to be in the film, which will be released on DVD in early May. There's also a soundtrack for the movie due out on May 9, which features a head-spinning collection of greatest hits from the label, although there are some notable absentees (why no My Bloody Valentine?). Check out the track listing below, and the trailer for the film above. [...]

Coming soon to a DVD player near you! Upside Down - The Creation Records Story , the story of Alan McGee's 1980s-1990s UK record label and his gathering of a talented bunch of "...lunatics, sociopaths, misfits, drug addicts and fucked-up farmers" in bands like Oasis, Teenage Fanclub, Jesus & Mary Chain, Primal Scream and many others. The film premiered last night at SXSW and shows again on Thursday. The Austinist wrote: "The film makes its North American Premiere at SXSW this year, and it features interviews with label founder Alan McGee as [...]
Music geeks are salivating at the prospect of these five upcoming music documentaries. 1. Living in the Material World: George Harrison Director: Martin Scorcese Sure we love the Beatles, but then there's the dark horse George Harrison, the man who emerged as a brilliantly enigmatic songwriter and became known as the quintessential reductionist guitar player. His post-Beatles release All Things Must Pass rivals Plastic Ono Band as the best post-Fab Four record and his notable solo career and much under-appreciated musicianship have been long overdue for a closer...

"Just Like Honey" –By The Jesus & Mary Chain . How do you decide which is your favourite album, like, ever? What rules or tests apply? Is it really about the music or is it linked to a time in your life you'd dearly wish to revisit? For me it's a fairly straightforward question, it's quite simply the album that I have returned to again and again, an album that is still able to console and inspire, and one which while transporting me back through time, still sounds as [...]
My Bloody Valantine, Jesus and Mary Chain, Ride, Primal Scream, Teenage Funclub ecc.. Questo nuovo [...]
I'm a HUGE music documentary junkie. Just looking at my TheBox download list will tell you that. Something that recently caught my eye was this trailer for this new doc on the history of one of the most famous independent UK label Creation Records. Creation were behind some of the biggest acts to come out of the UK indie music scene [...]
Upside Down -- The Story of Creation Records on Danny O'Connorin ohjaama dokumentti legendaarisen levy-yhtiön noususta ja tuhosta. "Millions of sales, near bankruptcy, pills, thrills, spats, twats, success, excess, pick me ups, breakdowns and of course some of THE defining music of the late twentieth century, this is the definitive and fully authorised story of the UK's most inspired and dissolute label." Aside from this trailer, there's little else to be Googled up on Upside Down . Back in January, the Guardian wrote a quick preview piece , which said "the full extent of the debauchery, precarious nature and genius of the independent label is to be laid bare in the most revealing rock'n'roll film since 24 Hour Party People ." That sounds pretty press release-y/English, but watch the trailer and see what you think. My Bloody Valentine. Ride. Oasis. Primal Scream. Felt. Teenage Fanclub. Super Furry Animals. Okay, we're stopping. Geeking has ceased.
