Merry Christmas!!!!! Here is a band who will not only brighten your already fantabulous day, but one who knows how to make great music, in addition to, what some may say is better visuals that have gone viral and have been nominated for awards and internationally recognized for their brilliance. I'll let their music and their videos talk for themselves, so here they are. OK Go - This Too Shall Pass Download audio file (02-This-Too-Shall-Pass.mp3) OK Go - WTF? Download [...]

Black Keys - "Tighten Up" from Brother It's scary to think of a time when Dan and Patrick will be responsible for the well being of youngsters. The Avett Brothers - "Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise" from I and Love and You I love a video that takes an egregious amount of time to produce. This Jason Ryan Mitcham video took 2,600 alterations of the same painted to create. Great [...]
Records were broken and notable songs were released in March 2010, which is the latest focus of our look at the year's biggest events in music. Rihanna's "Rude Boy" gives her a rare Billboard chart accomplishment: her sixth No. 1 single on the Hot 100. A female artist hasn't done this since 2000.

After taking a look at the best albums of the year, we proudly present you another of our year-end-lists: The best videos of 2010. ___________ 10 Toro Y Moi Talamak ___________ 9 LCD Soundsystem Drunk Girls ___________ 8 Das Racist Who's That? Brooown! [...]

I am going to start off with the Best of 2010: Singles. There has been great songs in 2010. I am going to based the singles from the Singles Chart on this site. You might find some of the mainstream singles kind of lower in the list. But its not about what is popular just as long they are on the 2010 list. There will be five Glee tracks in the Top 50 (I know you might like or dislike this but its been a phenomenon). Here are the singles from #41-#50 [...]

Nú þegar síga fer á sinni hlutann á árinu er ekki úr vegi að taka stöðuna á ákveðnum tónlistartengdum hlutum. Í þetta skiptið eru það tónlistarmyndbönd erlendis frá en þaðan hafa nokkur ansi merkileg myndböndin borist okkur í gegnum þröngar pípur Alnetsins. Byrjum á besta myndbandi ársins sem er án efa við lag Arcade Fire "We used to wait" en það er einungis hægt að sjá og upplifa á slóðinni www.thewildernessdowntown.com og með því að nota Google Chrome vafrann. Hér að neðan eru svo nokkur vel [...]
I should start by saying that I'm not exactly a huge fan of the music of OK Go. Their songs are catchy enough, and they are always loaded with hooks. They just trend a bit more into pop territory than I usually go. That said... OK Go consistently pumps out some of the best videos you will ever see. And they do it time and time again. The new one for their song "White Knuckles" might just be my favorite yet. ...and a couple of their classic vids [...]
OK GO - THE VIDEOS We've never covered OK GO on The Recommender before. The main reason is that their music is a bit shit. Oh alright, that's a little harsh, but their music definitely suffers from heavy doses of averageness - a plight befitting many bands, guaranteeing them a miss on this blog, as we are proud bunch of very picky bastards. So you would be forgiven for asking why we open our books to them today? Well, there's one outstanding feature of OK GO, which obviously is NOT [...]
I hate most music videos with a passion but this one is intensely nerdy and craftily creative. "This Too Shall Pass" - Rube Goldberg Machine by Ok Go. Sorry I missed them at the union county music fest yesterday. Totally remind me of the flaming lips for obvious reasons.

This Too Shall Pass (Passion Pit Remix) - OK Go Awesome remix by Passion Pit that I've been meaning to post. Check out OK Go's music video for the original track as well and marvel at the perfection of their timing.
In this week's paper, Eric Grubbs catches up with OK Go frontman Damian Kulash and talks, among other things, about the band's DIY approach to its music videos (like the above, recently released, ... Enlighten your self with some music. It's another stellar week of shows in Atlanta

OK Go's new music video for This Too Shall Pass is four minutes of pure Rube Goldberg insanity. Not familiar with the Rube Goldberg machine? Oh, but you are—it's that Mousetrap-like series of chain reactions that come from just one small action. I remember first seeing them on that PBS show Zoom. You know that old show with the kids and they used to speak that crazy language Ubbi Dubbi and play all those cool games. lol wow. good times....
OK Go will be performing on the Late Show with David Letterman tonight and the Colbert Report tomorrow. The band is currently on tour and set to play two sold out shows in NYC (April 29th and 30th). The April 29th show will be streamed live via Streamjam. Get more ...
I don't know how the group Ok Go continues to come up with these music video gems! In the world we live in today, music videos are passe, non-creative and most of the time non-important (with the way the music industry is structured now, few artists put the importance and value into them as much). I grew up on Michael Jackson, Spike Jonze, Michel Gondry, Mark Romanek videos and the like so I'm estatic to see a group like Ok Go continue in that tradition to make music videos that are fun, creative and really +ADD+ to the [...]
A few weeks ago, OK Go released a video for its new song, "This Too Shall Pass." The clip's premise involves a Rube Goldberg machine -- the complex (and often whimsical) cause-and-effect contrap... Well the title says it all folks, OK Go is touring for their new album, Off The Blue Colour of The Sky , and they'll hit the Metro on April 17th. There are still tickets left, darlins! Get them here (Metro is one of the wonderful places here in Chicago that doesn't use the evil Ticketmaster/LiveNation company, thankfully!) As soon as I get my paws on a copy of this album I'll be telling you how great it is, everything I've heard so far points in that direction. I never remember to watch [...]
