As part of their duties in curating the latest installment of Midlake's Late Night Tales , Belle & Sebastian contributed a stunning cover of the 1988 pop hit Crash by the Primitives. An indie pop band from the U.K., The Primitives didn't stick around long, but they managed to crack the US Top 20 four different times between 1988 and 1989. It's an amazing choice for a B&S cover and the whimsical video makes it just that much better.

Last month we heard a Belle & Sebastian Cover of The Primitives' track "Crash" which was released as part of the LateNight Tales , a music compilation series that "invites the world's best artists to delve deep into their music collections to create the ultimate 'late night' selection." Today we get an animated video to accompany the track which sees the band take the form of some rather blockheaded looking musicians. Check it out at the top via Prefix .
