Five-strong New York band The Walkmen (not currently being sued by Sony) released their fourth studio album this year. "In the New Year" will be the new single from said album. "You & Me", which was released on July 29, 2008 was one of their more well-received albums amongst critics and fans.

The Walkmen are one of those groups blessed and cursed at the same time by a single song. They achieved their glory moment with their marvelous single The Rat from the now classic Bows+ Arrows record back in 2004. However, the expectations by their fans for more similarly guitar/indie-rock songs where never fully satisfied. Instead the band chose to follow a much more subtle, low tempo path,

I am not sure if this is a great video. But, it definitely is a great song. This is the just released official video for "In The New Year", taken from the outstanding new album from The Walkmen , "You & Me". Please add it to your record collection.

One of the many perks of writing such a hugely successful blog is all the free stuff that piles through my letter box. On one occasion the blonde one out of The Ting Tings sailed through my flap and landed on the mat. Uno de los álbumes que más me ha fascinado de este año es el You & Me de los neoyorkinos The Walkmen . Si con su anterior entrega A Hundred Miles Off las opiniones fueron divididas, sin duda, You & Me es un material que a nadie ha defraudado con ese característico sonido post-punk revival y muy lo-fi que, ahora suena mejor que nunca.
