Pitchfork Music Festival gets going Friday afternoon with Lower Dens playing one of the first sets. It's a strong opener for what I think will be another good fest. (I've been to all of them.) Japandroids better watch out with debuting new songs live, because pretty soon here we're going to start badgering them for a new album. Here's another fresh one, "Fire's Highway," from their show at Pop Montreal. They use a similar chord progression as they did in Post-Nothing's material, except this time around they got some killer sing-along potential. A live video of a new Japandroids ' song, "Adrenaline Nightshift" surfaced today from the band's recent performance in Dallas, TX. You can catch the pop-punk duo tonight at Kung Fu Necktie, but in the meantime here's a preview of their new material (Via Stereogum). It's taken a while for Japandroids to fill the void that trailed in the wake of their Post Nothing album, but the two-piece band has at least been road testing some new material in recent times.
