Dan Deacon is coming to Kansas City this fall, though not to perform the electronic party music he's best known for. Instead, he'll be hitting up the Paragraph Gallery on November 9 with the Wham City comedy collective.… [ Read more ] [ Subscribe to the comments on this story ]

Ah, shit I know... but late at night, I love watching this type of stuff... Lame? Most definitely. But I never claim to be otherwise. "Farting Preacher" "Drinkin' Out of Cups" "Model Falls" "Rejected" "Sittin' on tha Toilet" "Meatball" "Fractal Zoom" "End Of Ze World" "Coconut Break Fail" "Drive By Fart" "Lizard Jumps" "Boomerang" -DT RELATED POSTS:STRAPPING YOUNG LADGRATUITOUS SELF-PROMOTIONNERD ALERT!!!LONG HAIR: HAIR OR NOT?BLABBERMOUTH HAS CHANGED EVERYTHING

But hopefully he really is in love with seahorses. Whatever the case, after Sarah Silverman Tweeted about he and Liam Lynch's 2006 video "Drinking Out of Cups" with the note that "Dan Deacon trips on acid" and the clip was subsequently discussed by Opie & Anthony, the DayGlo Baltimorean posted a MySpace bulletin proclaiming that he was not taking acid during the creation of said clip. In fact, he's never tripped on the stuff. It might seem a tad indulgent that he felt the need to proclaim his sobriety in such detail, but he does have some fun [...]
ZACH THAT: Here is a quick myspace post from Dan Deacon where he seems to be wanting to clear some things up: the video for 'drinking out of cups' (2003 meetle mice) seems to be going viral again, this time in the comedy world. sara silverman posted it on her twitter and 'opie and anthony' discussed it on their radio show. there is an amazing amount of disinformation and completely wrong information about this piece and i just want to clear some things up. For those of you who don't know, Liam Lynch is the guy who sang that cult hit a few years ago "The United States of Whatever." Dan Deacon is... I dunno who Dan Deacon is. But this video is fucking amazing. "pa-little kid in the background going CRAY-zeh-hheh-heh-hehhhh.." comic gold.
It has just come to my attention that not everyone has seen this hilarious video. When I heard Liam Lynch was creating podcasts a few years ago I immediately set to work downloading them all. I loved his show Sifl and Olly and couldn't wait to see what he was up to now. The podcasts were filled with silly animations, interviews and even a few appearances from Sifl and Olly. This is a clip from one of those podcasts with Dan Deacon providing the audio. Dan Deacon - Drinking Out Of Cups
I don't know what is going on here or what this is for. Completely random.
I found this piece of paper in a wad of crumpled necessities the other day. The following was scrawled in my handwriting: ------------------------------ ------------------------ INVEST WITH SEISMIC TUMOR FARMS (STF) nanotech+trannies+akira=corpor ate success (malignant!) buy buy buy radiation poisoning=blessing in disguise sell sell sell exploit your dna, sell the adspace, put this on wikipedia+pictures of Rupaul+Robocop melted together. ------------------------------ ------------------ I'm tempted to present this like "yoyoyo, thaz jus my nerdpoemz god, Charles Schwab'n that shiit, iz kinda magikal ya know, we in shamblez..", but I just said "I'm [...]
There's no denying the power of Dan Deacon at this point. The man's music is just too fun, too quirky, and way too danceable to ignore or to pass off as hipster trash. His visuals remind me of Tim and Eric skits, and his music is "a barrage of cheap-sounding, rainbow-hued, breakcore-tempo electronic noise" ( P4K ). You really have to watch the video for "The Crystal Cat" for yourself; while you're at it, check out his new record Spiderman of the Rings . It's a really good blast of summer fun. [...]
Today must be Dan Deacon Day in NYC - BV is all over the man's musical pursuits, but in my digging, I came across this animated short that he apparently contributed to....funny, profane, and in the voice of a Long Island lizard who riffs randomly on flying shit all around. "Not my chair, not my problem..."
