He was onstage doing his thing, all by himself, making beats, distorting and looping his soulful voice. Talk about a great show. Yeah, I know it's been on Pitchfork, and it's not news anymore, but I'm posting it because the new album from Jamie Lidell is one of my most highly-anticipated of the year. I was listening to Multiply again last week for the first time in ages and it's just so good. Easily one of the best records of the past five years. From the evidence of the above track, it seems like there might be more loose-limbed funk, which is a nice addition to the tight retro soul of Multiply . Speaking of which, here's a reminder [...]
