Toronto Canada's Bravestation combine a bit of new wave and indie tropical in today's feature, nicely encapsulating the last drags of summer months in their first single released, White Wolves. Bravestation released a self-recorded/produced EP in 2010 and have recently announced plans for a full length debut EP. Today's feature is featured from the longer version of the track White Wolves from the aforementioned single release, also for free over at Bandcamp alongside their first EP. Grab it all at the link below. SOUNDCLOUD | [...]
Toronto indie pop/new wave/afropop band Bravestation have had quite a year, beginning with the release of last year's fantastic 2010 EP and ending with their first trip overseas on a May 2011 tour of the UK. The year is documented in this self-produced mini-documentary -- inside the recording studio to filming a music video to tearing a hole in the roof of their tour van. With everything they've been up to, it's all the more exciting to see where the guys head next, not to mention what they do next. They're currently working on their debut [...]

Tweet On May 25th which is....uh...today, Bravestation are playing at the Dry Bar in Manchester and I am going to this gig. I don't get out much so I am pretty wired about this. I am even taking a friend. Anyhoo, Bravestation come from Toronto which is nice for them and they have a new single out called White Wolves - You can also download their entire EP for free! These crazy kids, how will they make any money? You can help them descend into greater levels of debt [...]

Bravestation , from Toronto, creates somewhat sonic, spacial music that's very accessible to the everyman. Their new video for "White Wolves" is a little perplexing, at least initially. You get the impression there's an impending doom ahead, and an unforeseen terror behind. You can see the panic in the woman's eyes. The band quotes Robert J. Hastings in their Facebook profile , stating: "So, gently close the door on yesterday and throw the key away. It isn't the burdens of today [...]

Toronto's Bravestation are about to embark on a full UK tour and after hearing their EP recently, it's sitting pretty as Gig Priority Number 1 . They've been likened to Yeasayer, Arcade Fire and The National -- elements of all three can be heard in the two tracks below but they've carved out a solidly unique sound for themselves which is why they're also playing Evolution Festival in Newcastle this month alongside the likes of Iggy & The Stooges, Caribou and Two Door Cinema Club. We've got both two tracks from the EP and links [...]

The team behind The Recommender spend their offline time working in promotions at various live events and venues, particularly around the city of Brighton. This allows us the chance to indulge in different corners of the music industry outside of the blog's walls, hopefully allowing us a little bit of additional insight and the chance to help bands further reach their audience. Bravestation were first covered on this blog's pages back here and since that initial connection we've continued the online conversation with the band and their management. This has resulted in us [...]

I first sang the praises of Bravestation back in August. They've released " White Wolves " a free single along with a few remixes and a cryptic video shot in the woods. Especially enjoying the Teen Daze take on the track. Head to their bandcamp to download the single and both remixes for free. MP3: White Wolves (Teen Daze Remix) - Bravestation
Guitar sounds in vacuous spaces do the trick. Add a little surrounding synth, and you get the new single from Toronto’s Bravestation. “White Wolves” is a bit of love lorn in a empty warehouse, aching for more, but wanting to remain secluded to prevent further damage. With some Narnia references stirred in, it’s just fun [...]
beautifully shot new video from Toronto's atmospheric rockers the BRAVESTATION . check their WHITE WOLVES video below and then swing via QUEER for a list of their May UK dates. wotyougot

Happy Earth Day everyone! Don't forget to show some love for the home planet by recycling, planting, composting or going to one of hundreds of events going on today. Hell, even using the same glass all day instead of paper cups helps reduce waste, and so does using one post to see ten videos! Think of the time and energy you'll be saving as you peruse the usual line-up of music videos and live performances. Amazing, right? We're a little behind here at Indiehere (*surprise, shock, surprise*), so I wasn't surprised when I found tons of emails and sat for hours in front of my computer listening to the music. I got excited when I heard this lovely treasure (but a few days too late, I'm afraid) Toronto's Bravestation proudly released their single "White Wolves" along with a video and some fantastic remixes from Teendaze (Blog-sensation) and Youth (Australian producer). Both were masterfully done, but my favorite remix would have to be Teendaze. Perhaps because its different from [...]

Toronto based outfit Bravestation released their debut self titled EP last year which we must admit here, went under the radar. So we were pleased to find a heads up in our inbox this week that the single 'White Wolves' has been given the remix treatment to by none other than Vancouver DJ/Producer/Blogger extraordinaire Teen Daze and Brisbane equivalent, Youth. Both remixes pump out a solid bpm rhythm, are emotion filled and are sure to do nice things on dance floors in far flung clubs around the globe. You can get both the original EP and the remixes for free [...]
Hailing from Toronto comes Bravestation, who sounds like Bombay Bicycle Club after listening to Local Natives. Not the most original thing you will ever hear but it ticks some very nice boxes. They released their first EP, a five-track self-titled affair last summer, and their new single is up on [Read more]

by teepoo Often overlooked, is Toronto's Bravestation. I can't believe I never mentioned their EP last year, especially since it was freely released on their Bandcamp . They present a sort of New Wave sound combining eclectic rhythms with somewhat moody and pop vocals. There's a sense of dreaminess without all that haze, a sense of mystery, yet understandable. Check out their latest single White Wolves . Seriously though, go download the EP. It's free. Bravestation- White Wolves Check out the [...]

I just got put onto Bravestation by a friend and I'm digging their sound. It's Canadian indie rock with a driving, suspenseful element to it. Musically, it reminds me a little of Florence and the Machine with male vocals, but they've also elicited Yeasayer and Talking Heads comparisons. These days a lot of indie rock is leaning towards a more pop-oriented, quirky, fun vibe that can be borderline corny at times. Nothing wrong with a little fun in music, but I can respect the serious, artistic quality in music like this. If [...]
Bravestation - White Wolves Be sure to pick up the single " White Wolves " and check out their EP that came out in 2010 over at bandcamp .
It's been nearly seven months since we wrote about Bravestation . We love the EP (which you can download for FREE I might add) they released last year and were really hoping they'd be making a journey here to Austin, at least in time for SXSW last month. Nevertheless we're hoping for a visit sometime later in the year (ACL?, Fun Fun Fun Fest?). Currently, the band starts a UK tour (dates down below) next month and have also released a video for their fantastic song, "White Wolves".

Today's edition of the Video Hits was intended to be back to the regular three video format, but due to a bit of news from Vancouver's You Say Party , we're back up to four videos. We're leading off with YSP's Lynch-esque video for "Laura Palmer's Prom" after hearing the sad news that the band has announced the " immediate cease to activity as YSP ". It's understandable really, as the band has had, in their words, a "hard year", and so we wish them the best in the future and hopefully we'll see them return to [...]
