The sentient mashup monsters known as the Hood Internet have struck again; they've just released "Giving Up the Sunshowers," a mashup of M.I.A.'s "Sunshowers" with Vampire Weekend's "Giving Up the Gun." It's pretty straight forward--it's just Maya's vocals over the Vampire Weekend song--but it's kind of interesting how well the buzzing synths match up with M.I.A's chorus. This is what the Hood Internet are the best at: They can find similarities in songs that aren't evident until they're mashed together. [ Stereogum ]
