De Swing Lo Magellan- sexto álbum de los Dirty Projectors lanzado en julio de este año- ya vimos  los clips para  “ Offspring are Blank ” y “ Swing Lo Magellan ”. Ahora la banda nos presenta el video para “ The Socialites ”, el cual es parte de una serie de entregas de su nuevo corto  Hi Custodian   -que pueden ver hasta abajo- escrito y dirigido por David Longstreth.

Since it's 12/12/12. Who knew Dirty Projector 's dropped their third music video in 2012. Offspring Are Blank is the beginning track from Swing Lo Magellan. I think in my opinion is the standout track on the album. Here is the music video. Looks like it's take from the short film "Hi Custodian". Makes me wonder if they filmed each song with a music video?

We didn't get to see too many mind-boggling short-form videos this week, but we did get one long one in which one of our greatest, most ambitious indie bands takes its packed-to-bursting, unapologetically pretentious musical maximalism to the screen, staying bizarre and compelling throughout. Dirty Projectors have a new 20-minute short film, a project called Hi Custodian that was apparently influenced by short films such as Kanye West's Runaway and Prince's Purple Rain . Written by David Longstreth, the band's frontman, the short film was shot in SoCal last April. Each band member plays a certain role, the entirety of which encapsulates " a surreal narrative about spiritual death and rebirth". Frontman David Longstreth, who directed and stars in the film, described the 20-minute-long Hi Custodian as being "made out of a dream." According to Pitchfork , who helped produce the movie, it's a "surreal narrative about spiritual death and rebirth" and features previously unreleased music from their recording sessions. Short-shorted hip kids stood anxiously in line outside New York City's Landmark Sunshine Theater, humming the asymmetrical melodies of the Dirty Projectors .
