My favorite sets at the first day of Pitchfork Music Festival Friday were by  Dirty Projectors and Willis Earl Beal . I had a feeling that Dirty Projectors' new songs would sound really good live. Last night Later... with Jools Holland returned to the TV sets of many a British household, well, those wanting to enjoy some talented musicians before heading to bed. On the show Willis Earl Beal appeared and put in a performance of his Acousmatic Sorcery featuring track, "Swing On Low". A fine performance it was too. Last night the 40th series of Later…with Jools Holland kicked off, and with Beth Jeans Houghton and Willis Earl Beal performing it wasn't such a bad way to start. The highlight has to be Beth Jeans Houghton's dance moves at the beginning of 'Atlas'. Earlier this evening, Later... with Jools Holland kicked off its 40th season with performances by two upstart singer-songwriters: CoSign'ed UK songstress  Beth Jeans Houghton and Chicago's own wunderkind Willis Earl Beal .
