The Hives are huge! No, I'm not repeating some Next Big Band hyperbole from back when the garage rock sound was on the rise. I'm giving you the premise of the clip for the first single off The Black and White Album, which is now slated for a November 13 release in the U.S. The Hives are huge! As in, giants. On display in a museum. And things go haywire from there. Keep an eye out at about the 2:40 mark for one of the most fake looking guy busting through a wall scenes in modern memory.
The Hives are still a band and they have a new album coming out on October 9th called Black & White Album They also have a video for their single "Tick Tick Boom" (yes, the same one from that Nike commercial). Here it is: They are also playing Webster Hall on October 9th. Too much going on...but they always but on a good show.

The Hives are getting mad mileage out of new tune "Tick Tick Boom" via a Nike running shoe campaign , but don't forget that garage riffage is also soundtracking Madden '08 . Good for them, though, it's a killer comeback single, may as well work it and reintroduce themselves. The video's got 'em in their finely tailored black 'n' whites and blown up -- first to 50 times their normal size, then like a porta-potty in Austin . Don't need to page doc Freud to figure Pelle.
It may not have the "counting down their 15 minutes" undertones of their Nike ad , but the Hives ' clip for the better-with-each-listen "Tick Tick Boom" does serve as a reminder that Howlin' Pelle Almqvist and his bandmates can knock your socks off ... with the sheer power of their minds .
