Filed under: News Dominique Charriau/WireImage Sir Paul McCartney is getting married for the third time to his girlfriend of four years, Nancy Shevell. According to People.com , the couple have recently become engaged. The pair met in the summer of 2007 after McCartney's highly publicized and bitter divorce from then-wife Heather Mills. Though the 68-year-old Beatle is 17 years older than the 51-year-old Shevell, it seems that the couple is ready [...]
Michel Gondry is a genius. There's no other way to say it, no way around it: When the dude is at the top of his game ( Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind , Dave Chappelle's Block Party , The Science of Sleep ) he's absolutely unfuckwithable, and even when he's not at the top of his game ( Be Kind Rewind , Human Nature ), his films are still jaw-droppingly unique and enjoyable and good-hearted. The dude's creativity is just astounding , and nowhere is this more evident than on his recent self-released DVD, [...]
We just found out that Michel Gondry 2: More Videos Before & After DVD 1 will be available from the director's website starting tomorrow, April 14th. Granted, it's not the most original name for a second compilation of music videos and shorts, but when you consistently churn out clips as bizarre and feverishly inspired as Gondry, you can pretty much name it whatever the hell you want. Gondry 2 will feature 20 music videos along with some bonus footage AND 10 assorted shorts and other odds and ends (like watching Gondry put together [...]
French film director Michel Gondry, of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep, and Be Kind Rewind, was the drummer of a band called "Oui Oui" in the 80s and early 90s. He directed their videos, including this one for "Les Cailloux." He also directed this whimsical video (with Natalie Portman in it!) for Paul McCartney's song "Dance Tonight" off his newest album "Memory Almost Full." [...]
+ You can dance, you can sing, you can surf, tonight, tonite, whenever, whatever. + You can come into my place tonite, you can do anything you want to do, uh! + Everybody wants to dance around tonight!. + And if you want, you can dance around tonight! + Jump and shout is also allowed! + This entry is because Paul (you know) has made a record. Period. It is called Memory [...]
Muziek! Simpel liedje. Heel simpel liedje. Leuk filmpje. Dance Tonight. [...]
Paul McCartney - Memory Almost Full ( Hear ) Happy 65th Birthday, Paul McCartney! And hey, thanks for making a record that even the cynics will find refreshing.
I've been enjoying this video and this song recently. In case you hadn't seen it yet (it splashed on the scene a few weeks ago, and I'm slacking), there's a nice little inventive short here with director Michel Gondry, director of one of my favorites, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind : PAUL MCCARTNEY, DANCE TONIGHT This is probably my favorite track of the new Macca album (wait, I didn't just say that - I meant off [...]
namie amuro - hide and seek [one of japan's biggest female j-pop singers releases the first single from her upcoming album play . though i'm not usually tipped on all things japanese, namie is kind of majorly big with fans of jpop and this single is just too darn catchy to ignore... (and no, i don't speak japanese)] a fine frenzy - almost lover ( rehersals.com live performance) [personally, [...]
BBC reports that CDs of Paul McCartney that are bought at Starbucks aren't included in the top 40 sales chart and could possibly hinder the former beatlesman efforts to top the chart. What they also reveal in the article is that "(the album) is being played non-stop in more than 10,000 Starbucks outlets across 29 countries on Tuesday." Way to brainwash your listeners.
It wasn't long ago that I shed light on the upcoming McCartney album, Memory Almost Full , that kinda "popped" outta no where without the typical hype hoopla. McCartney, who turns 65 in a few weeks, is comfortably proving that when he is sixty-four he can still write solid tracks and dazzle listeners. After parting with EMI and joining Starbucks' newly formed label (The Beatles and Starbucks share the "they're everywhere!" thing), his latest endeavour is going to be played all day in every Starbucks in the world. With 13,500 [...]
The former Beatle's third studio album of the new century backtracks on the creative revitalization of 2005's Chaos and Creation in the Backyard .
Guess which iconic Seattle rocker is depicted in this promotion mock-up Yesterday's post , like on all Thursdays, focused specifically on the Northwest (Sasquatch, duh!), and in that very short time a whole bunch of non-NW related stories fell through the cracks here at the KEXP Blog. So, today, while all of your officemates have fled to hills, beaches, and in-laws' houses, you can kick up your feet, watch a few videos and reconnect with the world. Don't worry - [...]
Here's the new McCartney video for "Dance Tonight" directed by Michael Gondry featuring Natalie Portman. Oo You - Paul McCartney Music MP3 music
By now, you already know the back catalogue for Paul McCartney (or 'Macca,' as he's affectionately known,) has finally made it into digital distribution circles (just in time for the buzziest Macca release in ages, Memory Almost Full .) It adds a lot of great music to the library, but it also unfortunately adds some real waste as well. Wild Life (1971,) Wings at the Speed of Sound (1976,) Back to the Egg (1979,) [...]
In which I finally chipped in my thoughts on some music videos/songs that were put up on YouTube ages ago...All hails from the country that is UK. Siobhan Donaghy - So You Say So Ex-Sugababe is all full-fledged and ready to flap her own wings now etc. This second single off her sophomore 'Ghosts' is really quite a cinematic, eeriely powerful pop ballad, right? I love how the verse and the chorus sound like two completely different songs. Easy to name the influences: Tori Amos, Kate Bush...It's a [...]
Another excellent opportunity to ramble about Gondry... Paul McCartney "Dance Tonight" dir. by Michel Gondry Michel Gondry's humour is often overshadowed by his veritable ingenuity and finesse behind the camera. His lo-fi aesthetic and technical wizardry have made him the most well-respected and influential director in the history of music video. Even when we applaud the playful absurdity of his images, we tend to dissect their [...]
Paul McCartney's new music video, 'Dance Tonight', from his upcoming album 'Memory Almost Full', premiered on YouTube. Filmed in London last March, the video stars Natalie Portman . He says he called her up and got her to do it by saying, "I'm Stella's dad!" I guess this song isn't about Heather Mills! Source: Faded Youth
