Who know the boys from Harlem Shakes could predict how amazing this year has been for music. Indeed, 2009 has been "a better year", with incredible releases by Passion Pit, Phoenix, Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors, The Dodos, and the Shakes themselves. Harlem Shakes' new album, Technicolor Health, has definitely propelled them to the next stratosphere of popularity. It's no surprise either, with its insanely catchy riffs and poignantly-nostalgic feel. Even if Pitchfork wasn't too tickled by it (I heard through the grapevine that they were debating on the Pitchfork message boards whether the album was even relevant enough for the site review), they seem to have no problem selling out the bigger NYC venues.
