
Because Weezer didn't include enough YouTube memes in their first video for "Pork and Beans" they decided to "remix" it and throw in about a million more. Too much. WAY too much. I don't get a lot of these, and I don't really want to. I think the YouTube viral video era is coming to a crashing close, starting with this video.
Here's a slightly remixed version of Weezer's "Hey, YouTube rules" video for "Pork & Beans" that ups the YouTube-iness by having the clip be a YouTube inside of another YouTube. The usual Internet stars like Chris Crocker, Daft Punk dancers, the Numa Numa guy, Rick Astley, and Chad Vader make an appearance. I am told that this is official, a slightly "remixed" alternate version of the iconic video for " Pork & Beans " that Weezer posted all sly-like under a different account (they also tweaked the title). It's a YouTube inside of a YouTube, which I guess doubles the meta factor right off the bat. Just watched it side-by-side with the original, and I see some new characters added, a couple of what might be bloopers, and some scenes that have new images layered on top of the old ones.
