It takes a little more to make a mark with a video now that every yuppie with a Digital SLR can produce delicious visuals by working with a shallow depth of field and a pretty smile. However, whilst the waters have been muddied a little, it hasn't affected the percentages too much; though shit now looks good, it's still shit when you shine a bright enough flashlight on it. I will be sorely disappointed if Kindness doesn't release an entire 15 disc boxset of instructional videos on how to dance like a boss, program drum machines, and wiggle your way into ladies' pants with your new-found synth skills.

This jam is near the top of my list for favorite songs of the year. It's melodic, layered, and passionate enough to pull at your heartstrings ever so slightly. Really though, you know you've got a winner when it can double as a good falling in love song and a breakup song at the same time (mood pending?). The video accompanying "House" is a clever mix of Adam Bainbridge talking about pop music then finding out which of his instruments sounds better to a younger kid. Kindness plays critic to the pop world and teaches a kid to play his latest single 'House' from his well enjoyed debut project ' World , You Need a Change of Mind .' The visual is odd and adoring with us leading more towards the latter. Lp is available now.

Adam Bainbridge put out his Kindness debut album earlier this year and if you're sleeping on it, you should be ashamed. It's something worth your time and is the start of what looks to be a promising career. Sure, he might seem a bit pretentious based on the video for "House", but dude has a point with his views on pop music. Educational and insightful isn't what I expect from my "music videos", but Kindness makes it work. He's a creative little bugger. [...]
