Warp star Kwes has just announced a very intimate show at one of the newest fashionable London venues - The Sebright Arms. He's down to play there on the 20th November, and tickets are just £6.

Can't wait to hear more from Kwes. We know this one is a little old but we had to add it to our blog track collection regardless. Listening to Kwes' music is as warm and gratifying as hanging out with a future partner. The song "lgoyh" off his last EP Meantime was released back in the spring and he's been getting some nice momentum since then. According to his fan page he says "Still can't believe this happened...Played on Fallon with Bobby Womack & the crew last Friday..." Dude's getting big quick. [...]

London's  Kwes is getting a lot of buzz & praise lately for his honest yet confident love songs with a tropical shine. The video for "Bashful" however is just some weird shit that goes down in an elevator. A really spacious elevator.

The joys of spring. Its been pelting with rain for 36 hours straight and The Southbank centre, London's concrete edifice to art is looking pretty damn bleak. At the Queen Elizabeth Hall there's a loud clanking gear shift crowd wise, as the heavy coats and grey hair of a Beethoven Cello Sonata audience push up their umbrellas and scurry into the rain just as an assortment of hairstyles and slightly hipper folk arrive for the launch of the Kwesachu 2 mixtape. Since Pitchfork introduced me to UK singer/producer Kwes , I've become more attached to his music. And in the past month or so, he has steadily been gaining more notice around the industry, which I am glad to see. "Bashful" was debuted back in March and is on his EP Meantime , but now we get a video to go along with it and I say about time . Watch it below. Fresh? [...]

Kwes ' eminently catchy 'Bashful' receives the Ian Pons Jewell-directed video "having an awkward time in a lift" treatment. Kwes' Meantime EP is out on Friday through Warp and you can have a wee listen on Dazed Digital . Kwes is playing the Camden Crawl Dublin on Saturday May 12th too which you might see some ads for around here. Might. I'm a big fan of his Bloc Party-esque EP closer 'Igoyh' .
