It's one of my favourite clips ever (and I know it must be my girlfriend's too) : though very simple (and probably cheap to make), it unfolds such beauty in what is shown (the love between people of all sorts and ages) that it really touches you right in the heart. Now I know Bright Eyes isn't a "new" undiscovered artists but I'm hooked on this song right now so its going up. First Day of My Life comes from the band's 2005 release I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning . The album received high praise from critics and was featured on many best-of-2005 lists including Rolling Stone , Time , and Blender . I was going to use this space to praise a certain music magazine's recent review of the new Bright Eyes album. I was going to link to it, and talk about how the opening line was brilliant, how it was so much better than anything I could've written, and how it made me journalistically insecure. But when I went to find said review on this magazine's website, it wasn't there. It's infuriating that some major music publications don't have their magazine content online.
